Asked Questions |
Can a gyrocopter take off
vertically? |
No. On standard
gyrocopters you cannot take off vertically, there are however some
gyrocopters that can perform a jump take off. |
Can i teach myself to fly? |
No! We require our
customers to agree to get training from a Factory approved training
facility before we sell them a Gyrocopter. Any aircraft is potentially
dangerous; therefore it is always best to get experienced help in
learning. |

How safe is a gyrocopter? |
As any vehicle capable of three-dimensional
movement, it is a potentially dangerous vehicle. However, Federal
Aviation Authority and the Civil Aviation Authority has stated that
because of the flight characteristics of the Gyrocopter and with
proper training it is a safe category aircraft. |
What happens if the engine
quits? |
The Gyrocopter's rotor blades will keep
turning and will maintain their flight revolution because of the
air passing up through the rotating disc. The pilot can then glide
to a suitable landing area and land safely. |

I am an experienced fixed
wing / helicopter pilot. Do I need lessons? |
Yes. The Gyrocopter is a completely
different type of aircraft and does require getting used to, however,
with some experience you should be flying sooner than those trainees
without experience in an aircraft. |
