INAUGURAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW - 11TH JULY 1997

CRITIQUE BY THE JUDGE

MR HAVERSTOCK (CANADA)

 BABY DOG CLASS

1ST Ursidae Quoll V Magic #1

Additional Award: BEST BABY IN SHOW

Very nice clean head, rear is nice and solid, he tends to be high in the rear in comparison to height at withers. Very nicely coloured, good front and quite good movement.

2ND Jicapa Wolfman #2

Very nice dog, good colouring, head needs to be a little bit bigger, but of course he's only a baby and this will make a difference. A little weak in the left rear leg, but with some good exercise it will come along.

Both very nice exhibits, I'm pleased with the class.

MINOR PUPPY DOG CLASS

1st Sylvenus Pure Magic #4

Additional Award: BEST MINOR IN SHOW

I don't particularly like the curly tail when it moves around the ring. Very nice specimen, good head, nicely coloured, clean as a whistle. Good bend of stifle - left hind leg is perhaps a bit weak, he is a young dog and that will strengthen up when he gets some good exercise. Front is very nice, a very nice specimen.

2nd Sylvenus Magic Happens #5

Also a very nicely coloured dog. Good head, good bite, nice bend of stifle, has nice tailset. Needs strengthening in both front and rear, should come along in the future.

PUPPY DOG CLASS

1st Raaleppo Ambers Continue #7

Additional Award: BEST PUPPY IN SHOW

Tends to have a little sway back, nice bend of stifle, moves well in rear end, carries his tail nicely, tailset is good. Front is quite strong, his head will develop a bit as he grows a bit older. Nice colouring, quite a good sound dog altogether.

2nd Raaleppo Ambers Snow #6

Has nice topline tends to be a bit straight in stifle, carries his tail nicely, good colouring, has a very nice head. Front is a bit sloppy but because he's young this will probably improve.

JUNIOR DOG CLASS

1st Sylvenus I'm Mitchell #8

Additional Award: BEST OPPOSITE JUNIOR

Nice topline, very nicely coloured, has a very nice head, reasonable well bent in stifle, carries tail nicely, quite a solid rear, tends to throw left front leg a bit when he's gaiting - this will probably strengthen up with some exercise. Feet could be a little bit tighter, that will probably improve too. All in all quite a nice exhibit.

INTERMEDIATE DOG CLASS

1st Nyranda Midnite Serenade #12

Additional Awards: BEST IN SHOW, CHALLENGE DOG, BEST INTERMEDIATE IN SHOW

Extremely nice topline, reasonable well bent in stifle, has a bit of a curly tail for me, moves a little close in the rear. Strong rear, strong front, moves nicely in front. Exceedingly pleasing head, perhaps the muzzle could be a little wider for the width of the head in front of the ears, but a very nice specimen altogether.

2nd Sylvenus Yankee Magic #13

Nice topline, nicely coloured, nice dark pigment and good tailset. Unfortunately has rather weakish rear - perhaps will come along with better exercise. Front tends to cross over a bit when coming and going, side movement is quite nice. Good bend to the stifle.

3rd Sylvenus Barcarolle Lad #10

A little bit soft in topline, nice head, has a reasonable good bend in stifle. He is what I call barrel hocked when he moves away, nice tailset, also tends to cross over in front, perhaps if the exhibitor showed the dog a little slower it could be avoided to a certain extent.

AUSTRALIAN BRED DOG CLASS

1st Sylvenus The Highwayman #14

Additional Awards: RESERVE CHALLENGE DOG, BEST AUST BRED IN SHOW

Quite a good topline, I didn't like the tail carriage. Good bend of stifle, nice colouring. Perhaps could have a little more neck, very nice size head, moves nicely both coming and going.

2nd Roshelle Aqua Marine #15

Also very nice dog, very nice tail carriage, good bend of stifle. Moves closely in rear, a little sloppy in front but that could improve. Extremely nice head too, would like to see the dark pigment around the right eye, but all in all quite a nice specimen too.

OPEN DOG CLASS

1st Ch Ursidae URGrand Vjoker #17

Additional Award: BEST OPPOSITE OPEN

Very nicely coloured dog, good size head, proportion is very nice, tend to be just a little high in rear. Extremely nice tail carriage, good bend of stifle. The rear is quite sound, the front tends to be a bit sloppy and depending on the speed the dog is moved perhaps crosses over just a little bit. Otherwise a nice exhibit.

BABY BITCH CLASS

1st Sugarmoon Angel Face #18

Additional Award: BEST OPPOSITE BABY

What a cute little girl she is, nicely bend stifle at the moment, a little high in rear she's got a lot of growing to do. A very happy dog. Nicely coloured, good pigment and nice eye colour. Sloppy in front but all babies are, and she'll come along very well.

PUPPY BITCH CLASS

1st Koolandra Wild Thang #21

Additional Award: BEST OPPOSITE PUPPY

Nice topline, good colour, good pigment, nicely benty in stifle, good tailset. Very nice tight feet, head will come along with age and needs to tighten up a bit in the front.

2nd Sylvenus New Age Fashion #19

Tends to be soft in back because of length of back and a little bit high that's because of her age. Moves quite nicely front and back, quite nice bend to stifle. Head for this age is in fairly good shape and will develop late on, good colouring.

3rd Raaleppo Mystery Bloom #20

Good topline, straight stifle, moves quite well in the back a little sloppy in front but that is because of her age and that will tighten up. The head will also develop as this dog grows a bit older. Good tight feet.

4th Sylvenus Kassandra #22

Good size dog, a little bit straight in stifle, moves reasonably well in front and back, nice pigment and colouring and needs to tighten up.

JUNIOR BITCH CLASS

1st Sylvenus Up Front #23

Additional Award: BEST JUNIOR IN SHOW

Very nice pleasing bitch, good topline, nice colouring, good tight feet, nice bend to stifle, nice tailset. Head will develop as she grows a little older. She's a bit weak in hock but that also will come as she develops along her way.

INTERMEDIATE BITCH CLASS

1st Sylvenus Lady Matrika #26

Additional Award: BEST OPPOSITE INTERMEDIATE

Very nice clean dog, good bend in stifle, holds tail well, nice tight feet. Good head, the head will develop more as the dog gets older, at the moment a little slack in the rear.

2nd Ch Bernedale She's No Fool #24

Tends to be a little bit down in behind the withers, very nice bend to stifle, good tailset, nicely coloured, good pigment. Good tight feet, moves quite nicely both coming and going.

3rd Sylvenus I'm No Smooth #25

Little bit straight in stifle, the movement in front tends to cross over a little, bit close in the rear, nicely coloured head - muzzle will perhaps broaden a little bit to match the width of the skull.

AUSTRALIAN BRED BITCH CLASS

1st Santavista Lady Madonna #30

Additional Award: BEST OPPOSITE AUSTRALIAN BRED

Very nice specimen, has nice topline perhaps a bit high in rear, good tail carriage, nicely bent stifle, good tight feet. Has nice pigment, on the head - the skull seems to be a little bit domy. Moves quite nicely both coming and going.

OPEN BITCH CLASS

1st Ch Koolandra Wildeyed Dream #32

Additional Award: R/U BEST IN SHOW, CHALLENGE BITCH, BEST OPEN IN SHOW

Very nice topline, tends to be a bit small, good bend of stifle, fairly good feet. Perhaps a little sloppy in rear, has a nice head, muzzle balances the skull.

2nd Tai Yuan Kiwi Affair (Imp NZ) #31

Additional Award: RESERVE CHALLENGE BITCH

Very nice, good size bitch, a bit straight in stifle, good tight feet, nice tailset, good pigmentation. Moves reasonably well both front and back, tends to be a little down in behind the wither and high in rear.
