Alice Springs Todd River Regatta

Day 1

Depart 0730 from the Pier Street Perth Coach Bay on the corner of Hay Street, through Northam, Merredin and Southern Cross to Coolgardie area for overnight camp.

Day 2

A tour round Kalgoorlie and out to Broad Arrows and Menzies. Visit Gawler and Leonora. Overnight accommodation at Laverton.

Day 3

Onto the desert. Past Cosmo Newbury to Peagull waterhole, Aboriginal paintings and caves. Then onto Tjukayirla Roadhouse and Warburton. Overnight in area.

Day 4

An early start today to Giles Weather Station and Warakurna Roadhouse. Over the border into the Northern Territory near Docker River to Lasseterís Cave and the Olgas. Time to climb Ayers Rock and see the caves, pools and Aboriginal paintings round the base of the rock, then watch the colours change at sunset. Yulara Caravan Park.

Day 5

Today we head for Alice Springs, passing Curtin Springs, Mount Connor, Mt Ebenezer Roadhouse and Erldunda. A stop at Noel Fullertonís for a chance to ride a camel and on into Alice. Caravan Park.

Day 6

After a tour along the Todd River and up Anzac Hill overlooking Alice, we visit the old Telegraph Station, then itís out to the West Macdonnell Ranges to Simpsons Gap and Standley Chasm. Back through Honeymoon Gap to Alice for a visit to Panorama Guth and shopping. Same Caravan Park.

Day 7

Today is for this unusual bottomless boat race - the Todd River Regatta. Or for souvenir hunting, shopping or just relaxing. Same Caravan Park.

Day 8

South today through Erldunda, across the South Australian border to Marla and Coober Pedy to see the opals. Visit underground mine and church. Underground accommodation.

Day 9

South to Kingoonya on the Trans Line, through the beautiful lake country to Wirrulla and into Ceduna. Caravan Park.

Day 10

Onto the Nullarbor to see the mighty Cliffs of the Great Australian Bight where we often see whales, dolphins or seals. Back into W.A. to Eucla.

Day 11

Through Madura Pass and Cocklebiddy to Balladonia and Norseman. Caravan Park.

Day 12

North through Widgiemooltha to Coolgardie then through the wheatbelt to arrive home approximately 5.30 to 6pm.

Please bring along sleeping bag, blanket and pillow.

Bookings can be made by emailing, or contacting us by phone, letter or personally. A 10% deposit per person confirms a booking. The full fare is payable one month before departure date. Bookings made within one month of departure require full fare.
